Robert Ripley made his official foray into the world of radio with NBC in the 1930s. Cementing his extensive career in broadcast, he even earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Among many peculiar media firsts, he was the first to broadcast underwater with his Marineland stunt in St. Augustine, Florida, on February 23, 1940. He milked a porpoise on-air and then spoke from inside his diving suit while feeding sharks!
