Ripley’s put the Ben Fjeld's creativity to the test at Ripley’s Crazy Golf in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina!
Surrounded by inspiration, like 360-degree loops, billiards-style putting, and even zip-lining, Ben created a crazy course of his own and made one of his most challenging trick shots yet!
We caught up with Ben while at Ripley’s Crazy Golf in Myrtle Beach and got to ask him a few questions.
Q: When did you first discover your talent for trick shots?
A: I’ve been interested in trick shots since I was about 10, inspired by Dude Perfect. I started making videos of basketball trick shots and was even featured in a talent show video in fifth grade with friends.
Q: What’s your secret to staying motivated through long projects?
A: I have a natural determination and patience that keeps me going, even if a trick shot requires multiple adjustments or takes hours. I could work for 12 hours straight, aside from bathroom breaks. The process is a roller coaster of emotions, from initial excitement to frustration, then to a mix of denial and laughter.
Q: Can you describe one of your most challenging trick shots?
A: One of my most challenging shots was a ping pong trick shot that took nine hours and involved complex bounces and ramps. However, the luckiest and most challenging was a world record shot, where I threw a CD into a game console from 36 feet (11 m) away in just six attempts!
Q: Has visiting places like Ripley’s Crazy Golf inspired you in any way?
A: Absolutely. Unique features like loop-de-loops and the zip line at Ripley’s have given me ideas for new trick shots. I’m even considering using a zip line at a local park for a future shot!
